“The German Animal Welfare Federation welcomes the fact that, following the Agriculture Future Commission, the Borchert Commission has now also criticized the lack of an overall strategy and formulated a clear goal in its statement on the future of agricultural animal husbandry presented yesterday: The reduction of animal husbandry, less consumption of animal products, an increase in animal welfare standards and support for conversion are the only way to effectively strengthen animal welfare and climate protection. All future political initiatives will have to be measured against this and must no longer fall short of this target.”
