Bereavement donation

SETTING A SIGN OF HOPE IN TIMES OF GRIEFDonations in lieu of flowers or wreaths

It is never an easy task for the bereaved to say goodbye to a loved one. Funeral services in the company of comforting people make an important contribution to coping with this loss.

If the deceased had a big heart for animals, it can be a nice gesture to ask the mourners for donations for animals in need before the service instead of flowers or wreaths. In this way, a special concern of the deceased is brought back to life for all to see.

You can find all the important information on this in our leaflet "Bereavement donations for animals in need". (available in German only)

How does the bereavement donation work?

You can already indicate in the obituary or in the invitation to the funeral service that you wish to make a donation for animal welfare and specify the donation account. Please ask us to state the correct cause as the purpose of the donation so that we can allocate your donations correctly. We will also be happy to send you bank transfer forms that you can pass on.

To ensure that everything runs smoothly, please inform us of your plans in advance:

  • By telephone on 0228-60496-29 or 0228-60496-15
  • Or by e-mail to anlassspenden(at)tierschutzbund.de

Upon receipt of these donations, you will receive a letter of thanks as well as a list of donors with details of the total donations received. Due to existing data protection regulations, however, we cannot give you the individual names, addresses or individual contributions of the event donors. If this is important to you, please give us a call so that we can advise you.
