To mark World Vegan Day, the German Animal Welfare Federation is inspiring more animal welfare in cooking and baking and offering help for vegan shopping with its new "Kitchen Guide" from the "Enjoy Animal Welfare" series. On eight pages, the free publication provides a compact overview of the most important ingredients that make up a wholesome plant-based diet - from fruit and vegetables to pulses, nuts and seeds as well as plant-based alternatives to meat, fish, milk and eggs. The "Kitchen Guide" can be downloaded from weiljedemahlzeitzählt.de/vorratskammer, printed out and hung up in the kitchen. It accompanies the vegan cookbook "Tierschutz genießen" and "Tierschutz genießen - Das Backbuch". The federation will also be answering questions from the community about the vegan lifestyle on its Instagram channel on November 1.

"Our society views animals in agriculture primarily as a product. But they are living beings just like us, with needs and the desire for a peaceful life with their fellow species that is free from pain and suffering," says Dr. Isabel Knößlsdorfer, expert on veganism at the German Animal Welfare Federation. "By making daily decisions about what we eat, we can act compassionately and show a heart for the supposed 'farm animals'. Fortunately, no one needs animal products to prepare a delicious meal - on the contrary: a vegan diet is incredibly varied and a lot of fun. Every meal counts!"

With the cookbook "Tierschutz genießen", its sweet counterpart "Tierschutz genießen - Das Backbuch" and a constantly growing collection of recipes, the German Animal Welfare Federation shows on its veganism website how tasty and easy the vegan diet is. The books, which have been produced in collaboration with prominent chefs, combine classic home cooking, traditional desserts and cakes as well as innovative creations in simple recipes that anyone can prepare. The books are available locally in bookshops and online for 24.95 euros each and their proceeds fund important animal welfare projects run by the German Animal Welfare Federation. They are accompanied by the free brochures "Tierschutz genießen - Die Vorratskammer" and "Tierschutz genießen - Die Vorratskammer Rezepte", which provide compact information on the most important vegan ingredients and delicious recipes. On its website, the federation also invites you to approach the supposed "farm animals" as sensitive living beings and learn more about them.
